Le Shape, Aix-en-Provence, 2012
The adventure begins in 2012, in the premises of a student association called Le Shape where a bunch of young people were building all kind of funny toys. Willing to make skateboards and innovate in the manufacturing, Aurélien and Antoine decided to keep pushing and integrate a fabrication laboratory located in Paris.

At the beginning, their idea is to design the perfect cruiser, agile and comfortable. After producing numerous prototypes, they choose to use a composition of bamboo and maple with a well-though shape.
The final bamboo/maple cruiser.
In the workshop, they discover the laser engraving technic that they will use from the outset to embellish the skateboards. Impressed by the rendering, they will explore the possibilities, particularly in adapting the engraving to stained wood. After testing many type of graphics with engraving, they got the idea to let the customer propose his own. The customization begins.
In October 2015, Oriane joins the team. Her background at the Fine Arts brings a new blood and the first artistic collaborations emerge.
Given the keen interest regarding the laser engraving rendering and the customization, Le Shape is more and more focused on this side of fabrication.
In 2016 they decide to outsource the production of the boards in the biggest European skateboard manufacture, located in the bask country.

Now the technic is mastered to let us engrave many types of illustrations and photos, and many wood colors are available
In November 2016, the crew moved to Bordeaux.
From now on they are laser engraving the boards on the premises of Cap Sciences, on the dock of the Garonne.
